Nonlinear inelastic simulation of high‐rise buildings with innovative composite coupling shear walls and CFST columns

This paper investigates the behavior of high-rise composite buildings with shear walls and concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) columns using a numerical model in OpenSees. In model, geometric material nonlinearity structural elements are captured by utilizing fiber force-based beam-column rigorously modified stress–strain relationships. Besides, confining effect concrete core, semi-rigid connections, coupling is carefully taken into consideration. Finally, case study 42-storey building conducted proposed to provide thorough understanding about this kind building. It shows that innovative has high loading capacity significantly reduces dimension members (up 50%) compared conventional RC at same capacity. Through validation test data, suggested constitutive laws have shown simplicity accuracy since value error only around 7%. addition, simulation results also indicate can capture well nonlinear tested specimens, especially, failure formation plastic hinges implicitly.
